The metrics a 50-person company should actually track

The handful of people metrics a growing team should track.

Five that matter

At fifty people you don’t need a dashboard the size of a wall. Track time-to-productivity, voluntary attrition, absence trends, offer-acceptance rate, and onboarding completion. Everything else is noise until it isn’t.

The point of a metric is a decision it changes. If a number wouldn’t alter what you do next, stop reporting it.

Ignore the vanity

Headcount growth, tool adoption, survey response rates, comforting to watch, rarely useful to act on.
